Description
English: Memorial to airmen at Whitesands Bay This propeller blade is from a Martin B-26 Marauder (a WWII twin-engine bomber) which crashed into the hillside of nearby Carn Llidi in fog on 4 June 1943. The propeller stands as a memorial to the four American airmen who died in the crash. (See [1] for an enlargement of the plaque.) There is a substantial amount of further information about the crew here [2].
