In this Town May 30th 1658, Bequeathed FIVE
HUNDRED Pounds for the Poor, Two fifths to the
Parish of Saint Peter, and the other Three fifths
between This Parish and Saint Clement’s
With which and TWENTY-EIGHT POUNDS
Given [to] Sir ROBERT FURNESE His Son. This
MAYOR AND JURATS IN 1727 purchased Land
About nineteen acres at Weddington in Ash.
Mr PETER JARVIS, by his Will dated July
29th 1712, and proved at Canterbury in 1715,
Devised to RICHARD MAUNDY Gent. & his Heir
And Assigns, a Farm at Marshbourough in Woodnesborough,
Of about nine acres. In Trust , To pay the profits
To the several Churchwardens yearly in the
Guildhall on the twentieth of December, for
The Poor.
JOHN SPRAT, of Fort St George in East India,
Esq’r
Bequeathed ONE–HUNDRED POUNDS to
the Charity School & THREE HUNDRED POUNDS
To the parishes: Which Legacies were paid by
his Executors DANIEL RAINIER Esq and Capt

of the Royal Navy in 1785
and Stock was purchased in the Publick Funds.
