Nederlands: Memorietafel van Boudewijn van Swieten en zijn geslacht. Gemaakt ter nagedachtenis aan het echtpaar Boudewijn van Swieten en Lutgard van Nijenrode, hun kinderen en hun schoonfamilie. Het was oorspronkelijk geplaatst bij het ouderlijk graf in de kapel van het in 1428 door Van Swieten gestichte klooster Mariënpoel in de omgeving van Leiden. De oorspronkelijke memorietafel werd waarschijnlijk kort na de dood van Boudewijn van Swieten geschilderd. In 1552 werd het tafereel vernieuwd. Aan de linkerzijde werden de twee kinderen van Van Swietens kleinzoon Adriaen toegevoegd. Ieder mannelijk familielid draagt een herautenmantel met daarop zijn familiewapen. Maria kreeg als patrones van het klooster een centrale plek op het paneel. |
