Français : Mendiant en habit de soldat « Il y a cent ans, plusieurs mendiants sillonnent la région en demandant la charité pour l'amour du bon Dieu. Parmi ceux-ci se trouve le célèbre Ti-Jean Gagnon, natif de la Municipalité de Rivière-Ouelle. De faible constitution, il demande la charité, parcourant un territoire allant de Lévis à Rimouski. Il s'arrête quelquefois au Collège de Sainte Anne de la Pocatière. C'est à cet endroit qu'est prise la photographie en août 1914, peu après que le Canada se soit engagé dans la Première Guerre mondiale. Pour l'occasion, on l'avait habillé en soldat de fortune avec toutes les armes nécessaires au combat. » |
