Description
Deutsch: Ein Mengerschwamm und Raytracing-Effekten. Im Koordinatenursprung (Zentrum des Mengerschwamms) ist eine Lichtquelle. Das Bild soll die Funktionalität des Raytracings (Ambient Occlusion) visualisieren und die daraus resultierende Schattenwirkung. Der Boden, auf dem der Mengerschwamm steht, tangiert die Unterseite des Fraktals. Das Licht wurde gedimmt, damit keine Überbelichtung den Schatteneffekt stört. Eine Spiegelung an der vertikalen Linie durch die Bildmitte zeigt eine Symmetrie, sodass von einem akkuraten Rendering ausgegangen werden kann.
English: A Menger sponge with ray tracing. In the sponge-center is a light source. The image illustrates the functionality of ray tracing by computers and the resulting shadow position and orientation. The bottom touches on the Menger sponge. The light is dimmed, so that the shadow effects take visual effect. A reflection at the vertical axis, going through the image center, offers, that the rendering is accurate, because symmetry is given.
