editAnsicht der Stadt Dannenberg (Elbe). Kupferstich von Matthäus Merian aus dem Jahr 1645. Zu sehen ist die heutige Innenstadt ungefähr zwischen Prochaskaplatz (im Südwesten) und Thielenburger Weg (im Nordosten). Ansicht von Süd bis Südost. Der Standort des Betrachters liegt in der Nähe der Dannenberger Jeetzel-Stadions (evtl. auch Pörmke?); vorne rechts würde heute der Thielenburger See zu sehen sein.
Beschriftung: F.B.L. [wahrscheinlich Fürstlich Braunschweig-Lüneburgisch] Statt und Schloß Dannenberg
Folgende Landmarken sind beschriftet:
- Travener Thor (nach heutiger Rechtschreibung Drawehner Tor), entspricht vermutlich etwa dem heutigen Mühlentor
- Rahthauß (Rathaus), vermutlich das heutige Hotel Ratskeller
- S. Ioh. Kirche (Sankt-Johannis-Kirche), heute mit einem anderen Turm
- Das Schloß auf dem Amtsberg. Der Turm des Schlosses steht heute noch (mit einer anderen Dachform) als Waldemarturm.
- Mascke Thor (Marschtor)
- Ietzel-Flu. (Jeetzel). Einige der abgebildeten Flussarme (z.B. die beiden Arme bei Rathaus und Kirche) wurden um 1970 zugeschüttet. Heute fließt (im abgebildeten Gebiet) die Jeetzel nur noch rechts um den Amtsberg herum.
Datierung nach der Webseite der Samtgemeinde Elbtalaue [1]. Dort ist eine Postkarte abgebildet, die dem Stich nachempfunden ist.
