Description
English:  : Merzse Marsh Nature Trail 4th station. Pedunculate oak forest area. The Merzse Marsh is one of the few wetlwnd habitats in the capital with undisturbed water and uliginal vegetation and an adjoining bog field. The open water surface of the marsh offers nesting sites for water fowl. The marsh has dried up in several occasions in the 1990s years. Now, wells have been drilled to ensure the adequete water supply and attemps have been made to conserve the accustomed conditions for wildlife by a system of ditches of several kilometers long. Visiting is restricted in order to preserve the ecosystem of the marsh. Under protection of the Budapest Municipality since 1977.
