Summary
editDescriptionMetro Manila NCR Night Light Radiance Decline During COVID-19 Pandemic (March-June 2020).gif |
English: A decline in the Night light radiance of NCR was observed during the community quarantine period. This is attributed to the significant slowdown in different economic activities during this period. Night light radiance of NCR and nearby cities before the quarantine (March 1-16), during the ECQ-MECQ (March 17 - May 31), and GCQ (June 1 - 30) period. The impact of the pandemic on the economy may be observed from the decrease of night lights as the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) imposed in NCR limited the mobility of vehicles and operation of different commercial establishments. Street lights, car headlights, industrial, and commercial establishments are the main sources of the night light observed by from cities.
