English: An old map of Paris, France.
In 1594 Maurice Bouguereau issued the first national atlas of France with regional maps. Jean Le Clerc acquired the plates and re issued the maps with editions published by him and later his widow in 1621, 1626, and 1632 (this copy). Additional maps were added with each edition. Considered the first atlas of France to contain detailed maps of all the provinces. Sheets in French and/or Latin. Relief shown in sketches. |
