English: Midsummer Hill Rampart Now overgrown with trees, but 2000 years ago this would have been much higher and gleaming with the revetment lined with limestone from quarries on the plains hundreds of metres below. Malvern Granite is awkwardly shaped for building so the limestone had to be transported up hill. Here is one piece unearthed by the tree roots. |
