Mil Mi-24 attack helicopter and troop transport helicopter at the Museum of Aviation in Košice

Summary edit

Description
English: Mil Mi-24 attack helicopter and troop light transport helicopter displayed at the Museum of Aviation in Košice, Slovakia. Designed and manufactured by the Soviet aviation company Mil, it has been manufactured since 1969 and newer versions (especially for export) are still occassionally being produced. It was and still is part of the inventory of many countries' air forces and army aviation forces, especially those of the former East Block, but also many countries in Asia, Africa, and even a few in Central America and South America. The more modern export variants are the Mi-25 and Mi-35. The preserved specimen shown here is a former Slovak Air Force Mi-24. The Slovak Air Force retired its remaining Mi-24 squadron in 2011. The helicopter's NATO reporting name is "Hind" (with the Mi-25 and Mi-35 known as "Hind D" and "Hind E").
Slovenčina: Bojový a pechotno-transportný vrtuľník Mil Mi-24, vystavený v Múzeu letectva v Košiciach, Slovensko.
