Description
English: Millbay pier, Islandmagee Limestone is common in east Antrim. There were several piers erected around the coast of Islandmagee to facilitate its export. I have not been able to trace a source which gives all locations. The pier, in the townland of Carnspindle, is however recorded as having been completed in 1834 for one Archibald Donnan at a cost of £450. It seems that it was subject to silting and fell into disuse. Magheramorne quarry is in the background.
