| Description |
English: Mine entrance, Bwlch Glas This is the portal of the Deep Adit (or No.2 adit) level of the Bwlch Glas lead mine, with the concrete remains of part of the mine processing plant above. The Deep Adit is blocked but gave access to a headframe - which still survives - operating cages down to the now flooded lower levels of the mine. The mine sits in the valley of the Afon Cyneinog. It was opened around 1889 but was most successful under the Scottish Cardigan Company from 1909. All work had ceased by 1923. |
