McLaren mur à mur

Le Quartier des spectacles de Montréal et l’Office national du film du Canada (ONF) s’associent pour souligner le 100e anniversaire de naissance de Norman McLaren en lui dédiant l'ensemble des façades de vidéoprojections du Quartier des spectacles de Montréal. Les cinéastes et créateurs des quatre coins de la planète ont été invités à célébrer son legs en soumettant des créations originales s’inspirant de son œuvre.

En s’inspirant de Caprices en couleur (1949), Mirai Mizue a conçu un kaléidoscope ludique qui met en scène la métamorphose de divers animaux blancs sur un fond coloré. Intitulée The Baby Birds of Norman McLaren, sa vidéo d’animation abstraite est portée par les rythmes dansants de la chanson Poker de Shugo Tokumaru.
