Polski: Grupa prac na papierze Miriam Cahn to rozwinięcie dla wielkoformatowego, niezwykle malarskiego obrazu Mała rodzinka znajdującego się w kolekcji Muzeum. Tam, niepokojący i oniryczny portret rodziny przedstawiał trzy postaci o rozmytym konturze, sprymitywizowanych rysach twarzy i przerysowanych, wręcz groteskowych częściach intymnych, tworząc pole napięć o nieokreślonych wektorach. Tu, niewielkie formatowo prace na papierze niosą podobny ładunek intensywności. Z jednej strony to patrzące z kadru dygoczące (marionetkowe, a jednocześnie w ich bezbronności przejmująco obecne) postaci poddające się oprawcom kontrastującym z ich rozedrganym konturem – ciemnym i rysowanym zdecydowaną kreską. Z drugiej, to akwarele należące do większej serii przedstawień opresyjnej architektury i pojazdów wojennych (czołgów, różnej maści pistoletów czy karabinów) będących echem dla ludzkich – tak twórczych, co destrukcyjnych – pasji. |
