Description Los mirlos canarios (T. m. cabrerae Hartert 1901, descrito de Tenerife; incluye como sinónimo Merula canariensis Madarász 1903, descrito de Gran Canaria) son algo menores y sobre todo más oscuros, más evidente en las partes inferiores de las hembras. Éstas, además, presentan el pico amarillento y muy poco blanco en la garganta (Clement y Hathway, 2000). Las poblaciones de El Hierro y La Palma, descritas como T. m. agnetae Volsoe 1949, son todavía más oscuras (Cramp, 1988).
