Summary

Description
English: This bridge was dedicated in 1930 at a crossing on the Missouri river previously popular with buffalo herds and Indian raiding parties. Long, long ago the only way to cross the river in winter was over the ice. Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery passed through here. The structure is 1074 feet long and contains 1,150 pounds of steel and is the last example of a through truss bridge in Montana. In 1929 and 1930, the construction site was the most popular tourist attraction in Northeastern Montana.

This is an image of a place or building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the United States of America. Its reference number is 97001451.
