Summary edit

Description
English: Modern-day scarecrow in Aldbrough St John. Scarecrows like the one shown here 952326 used to be a common feature on English agricultural land. This photograph shows how modern technology is replacing traditional approaches to bird scaring in many English agricultural scenes. This picture shows one of an array of such devices scattered around this field near Kilton Grange. Sadly, the static nature of the picture does not depict how the device works. In the background of the picture Aldbrough Beck flows in an easterly direction along the tree line as it makes its way towards Micklow Hill.
