Description

Ashley Taylor (Regional Monarch and Pollinator Conservation Specialist - Joint Xerces Society and US Fish and Wildlife Service) conducting monarch and milkweed surveys on Seedskadee NWR. Using a kayak, Ashley was able to float and survey many miles of the river banks of the Green River, stopping every 30 minutes. She would record observations of monarch butterfly, caterpillars, eggs, and showy milkweed. This information will help with our knowledge of the distribution and abundance of monarchs and milkweeds in the Upper Green River and on Seeskadee NWR.
