Summary

edit
Description At the peak of a relatively steep climb on Monhegan Island. One version of the Darling family history has our immigrant ancestor John Darling dividing his time between fishing here and farming near Salem Mass. This island is a great place to get away from it all. Accessible by a 90 minute boat ride, it has only a few cars. Only one public washroom. A few art galleries. Remote land and seascapes that have been the subjects of notable artists like Wyeth and Hopper.
