Deutsch: Der Monolith von Niederstedem. Die Altarplatte des alten Zelebrationsaltars (nicht des neuen nach dem 2. Vatikanischen Konzil eingebauten Zelebrationsaltars direkt davor) ruht auf einem großen, roh behauenen Monolith. Da dieser mit weisser Farbe überstrichen ist, ist seine Oberflächenstrukur leider nicht erkennbar. Aufgrund mehrer Parallelbeispiele der Verwendung von Menhirteilen in christlichen Altären (z. dem 1992 entdeckten in Latsch) und der Nähe zum Ferschweiler Plateau mit seinen vielen Menhiren und anderen vorgeschichtlichen Denkmälern wäre auch hier eine Zweitverwendung eine Menhirs denkbar - wenn auch kaum beweisbar. |
