Description
Español: Monolito instalado en 2009 en El Fondó (Monóvar, Alicante) en memoria de quienes partieron desde allí al exilio en avión el 6 de marzo de 1939, entre ellos el presidente del Gobierno de la República Juan Negrín. Dichos acontecimientos precipitaron el final de la guerra civil española. La estela, con una de las puertas del refugio antiaéreo visible al fondo, contiene unas palabras del cronista alicantino Enrique Cerdán Tato:
«En el Hondón
quedó la memoria de la república,
y su aliento que nos reclama,
y levanta este monolito
setenta años después.»
