English: Martydom of Japanese and Christians and European missionaries in early 17th century Japan, who were thrown into the hot springs of the mount Unzen (Kyushu). The illustration was engraved based on written reports sent to Europe.
Deutsch: Tod von japanischen Christen und westlichen Missionaren, die während der Verfolgungen im frühen 17. Jh. in die heißen Quellen am Vulkan Unzen geworfen wurden. Die Illustration basiert auf schriftlichen Berichten, die nach Europa gelangten.
