English: Montgomery Canal reedbed Just above Aston middle lock an area of the canal is set aside as a reed bed. The reeds have slowly got taller over the years, whether this is due to the reeds getting established or just good growing seasons. In the winter the dying stems of the reeds provide shelter for birds and other aquatic animals. |
