Le toponyme peut être interprété de deux façons : « Mont admirable » ou « Mont d'où l'on admire » (mont d'où l'on voit loin : le village se situe à 400 mètres d'altitude et a une vue remarquable sur le Vercors et sur la Drôme des collines) Église Saint-Christophe de Montmiral : clocher de style roman (est), abside et absidioles du 12ème siècle (inscrit MH, 1927), autre clocher du 19ème siècle. Les peintures et l'architecture intérieure sont de style art nouveau. L'église est ornée de vitraux 1900, œuvres du peintre verrier Louis Balmet. Montmiral, Drôme, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France The toponym can be interpreted in two ways: "Admirable Mount" or "Mount from which one admires", mountain from which one sees far: the village is 400 meters above sea level and has a remarkable view of the Vercors (Alps) and the "Drôme des collines".
