Description : Sobre et distingué, cet édifice au gabarit impressionnant est l'une des rares écoles monumentales d'inspiration néoclassique à Montréal. Son architecture de style Beaux-arts était très en vogue au début du 19e siècle. La mise en scène de cariatides, la brique de couleur jaune, les motifs en terre cuite concourent au raffinement de ce lieu d'éducation. Cet édifice est signé en 1914 par des architectes parmi les plus en vue au Canada: les frères Edward et W.S. Maxwell à qui l'on doit aussi le Musée des Beaux-arts de Montréal.
