Mural monument in Church of Saints Theobald and Chad, Caldecote, Warwickshire, to Michael Purefoy (1497-1570) of Caldecote, second son of Thomas Purefoy (1472-1539) of Fenny Drayton, Leicestershire, by his wife Margaret FitzHerbert, daughter (and heiress) of Ralph FitzHerbert of Norbury in Derbyshire. He married Joyce Hardwick (1510-1585) (matching monument in same church) a daughter and co-heiress of John Hardwick of Lindley, Leicestershire. Inscribed in Latin:

Michael Purefoy vixit an(n)os 73 menses 4 dies 8 obiit 22 JULII Anno D(omi)ni 1570 ("Michael Purefoy lived for 73 years, 4 months, 8 days, died 22 of July AD 1570").
