Description Elemento escultórico inaugurado a 8 de abril de 2005. É composto por um conjunto do qual fazem parte um padeiro, a trabalhar junto do forno, e uma padeira carregada com a canastra à cabeça cheia de pão e biscoitos para venda. Com a mão direita segura a referida canastra e no braço esquerdo exibe a famosa regueifa de Valongo. Trata-se de uma homenagem à canseira dos homens e mulheres valonguenses, padeiros e padeiras, que desde tempos imemoriais produzem cá os biscoitos e o pão de trigo, do qual se destaca a alva regueifa, muito apreciada e que chegava à cidade do Porto e a toda a região envolvente. Evoca, assim, uma importante, identitária e antiga atividade económica do concelho, a panificação, que há muito dá nome a Valongo.
