Description
Español: El Monumento a los Mártires de la Independencia es un obelisco de 17 m de altura en cuyos muros se encuentran los nombres de los mártires de la independencia de Colombia. Se encuentra situado en el centro de la plaza de Los Mártires, en la avenida Caracas, entre las calles 10 y 11 de la localidad de Los Mártires del centro de Bogotá. Su autor es el arquitecto Thomas Reed, y su ejecutor Mario Lambardi, que respetó el diseño original. Se inauguró el 4 de marzo de 1880. Esta fotografía fue publicada en el libro «Colombia 1893», p.61.

Public domain This file is in the public domain because the copyright of this work, registered in Colombia, has expired, according to “Law 23 of 1982 on Copyright, Articles 11, 21-29”, amended by “Law 44 of 1993, Article 2” and “Law 1520 of 2012, Articles 4, 6 and 10” (details). However, some restrictions have to be addressed:

  • In all cases where the applicable term of protection starts on the date of publication, the said term shall be understood to end on December 31 of the relevant year.
  • The author and the work source must be acknowledged when reused in Colombia, except if the author is unknown.

You must also include a United States public domain tag to indicate why this work is in the public domain in the United States. Note that a few countries have copyright terms longer than 80 years: Mexico has 100 years and Jamaica has 95 years. This image may not be in the public domain in these countries, which moreover do not implement the rule of the shorter term.
