Español: Obra "Monumento al Tango", los autores son la escultora Estela Trebino y su hijo el ingeniero Alejandro Coria. Se localiza en el Parque Biblioteca Manuel Mejía Vallejo del barrio Guayabal, muy cerca del Aeropuerto Olaya Herrera de Medellín. Colombia.
El gobierno argentino donó esta obra a Colombia en memoria a un accidente aéreo ocurrido muy cerca de donde está ubicado este monumento (cerca al aeropuerto Enrique Olaya Herrera), donde falleció en 1935 el gran Carlos Gardel. Fue ubicada específicamente en el Parque Biblioteca Manuel Mejía Vallejo del barrio Guayabal. Se trata de una réplica del "Monumento al Tango" (sus otras dos réplicas se encuentran en Francia (Tarbes) y en San Pablo (Brasil)), y la original que fue inaugurada en noviembre de 2007 se encuentra en Argentina (Puerto Madero - Buenos Aires). Esta obra fue elegida en un concurso realizado en Buenos Aires con el fin de hacer un homenaje a este gran género musical. La copia de Medellín fue inaugurada el 26 de febrero de 2013, se trata de una pieza de tres metros de alto instalada sobre un pedestal de 1,70 metros, pesa cuatro toneladas, fue elaborada en acero inoxidable y creada por los artistas argentinos Alejandro Coria y Estela Trebino. Su inspiración: una “forma extraída del alma del bandoneón”, tal como se puede leer en su placa. |
