Summary edit

Description
English: Moorburn Burning off last year's old dead grass and heather on moorland is an age-old practice which encourages new growth in the spring. Unfortunately, the spread of forestry in the past 40 years has made it too dangerous to burn in many areas as fires can easily 'get away' and spread to neighbouring plantations. The result is that in many areas, moorland becomes choked with thick rank vegetation which restricts the new growth and makes the land very difficult to cross on foot.
