Français : Détail des ornements sur la partie droite (pour le spectateur) d'une mosaïque romaine conservée à l'Alcazar de Cordoue (en Espagne) et dont le sujet principal représente Polyphème et Galatée.
La mosaïque date du IIe siècle avant J.-C. Ses dimensions sont : 410 x 510 cm. Elle a été découverte en 1959 lors de fouilles dans le sous-sol de la Plaza de la Corredera. Elle se trouvait dans une riche maison romaine contenant plusieurs mosaïques. Cette scène décorait le pavement du triclinium (salle à manger). La scène principale représente les amours entre le cyclope Polyphème et la nymphe Galatée. Elle est bordée à droite et à gauche par des ornements géométriques en losanges entourés de quatre poissons, le tout réalisé en tessons de couleur noire. |
