Description
From the temple of the goddess Ninhursag. Two such columns stood on either side of the entrance to the Ninhursag temple. Originally had a core of palm-wood, coated with a layer of bitumen. The mosaic pieces were made of mother-of-peral, pink limestone and black shale, they have copper wires at the back, twisted in loops in the bitumen to hold the pieces in position.
