Description

"Medusa" és un mosaic, conservat al Museu Nacional d'Arqueologia de Tarragona. La imatge ha estat recomposada mitjançant un programa freeware de fotomosaic connectat online al cercador Google. El resultat final està constituït per 10.000 imatges disponibles a Internet aplicant com a criteri de cerca els valors mítics de la Medusa anunciats al "Diccionario de símbolos" de Juan Eduardo Cirlot: saviesa femenina sobirana, mirada mortal i purificadora, força de la naturalesa, cicle del temps, vida, mort i renaixement; creativitat i destrucció, energia latent i activa, connexió a la terra, última veritat, en català i castellà.

L'autor de l'obra és Joan Fontcuberta.

Fins al 17 de maig es pot veure al CCCB dins l'exposició "Il·luminacions. Catalunya visionària"
