English: Motor generator set for walking dragline. The 1000 ton dragline was powered by electricity and trailed a huge "extension lead" carrying a high voltage. Because it was American built it used 60 Hz AC and the blue kit converted 50 Hz to 60 Hz. In a further twist, the internal motors are DC and controlled by the Ward-Leonard system. |
