日本語: 新高山。帝國第一の高峯,標高三九五〇米,臺中、臺南、高雄三州の境上に峙ち,主山を中心として正しく四方に,東山(三八八四米)、南山(三八六九米)、北山(三八六七米)、西山(三五四九米)の四峯が其前哨をなしてゐることは實に新高獨特の地形である。全山比較的脆弱な粘板岩及び砂岩等から成つてゐると,熱帶地方に位置するといふ關係から,激甚な削剥作用を受けて巉岩絕壁を呈する良が多い。主山の頂上には大山祗神を祀る石造の新高社がある。圖は北山から見た主山の容姿で,左方の梁線は東山に續き右方は西山に續く。後方に山頂の見えるのは南山である。(見元了,臺北商業學校教諭,臺灣山岳會幹事) |
