As hedid so a crow hopped out and went stalking aboutthe room. The man was more astonished thanthe King. In his fright he had hit on an oldsaying that he had often heard, and it saved hislife. The Prince gave the man a purse of gold andhe was about to retire, when suddenly an attend-ant came running into the chamber crying thatsome one had stolen the beautiful diamond ringbelonging to the Princess Myla. Tell the Princess to trouble herself no fur-ther. We have here a man who will be able tofind it/ said the King.
