English: Mr Mowlem unwraps it all. The Jamestown Viaduct. The bridge at Inverkeithing is unwrapped. Mowlem completed the bridge refurb [last year 43061]. The old pale puce green has given way to a very familiar Red Oxide of Iron hue. Hmmm. Dare I say a "off the back of a lorry" surplus tin from the current refurb of the Forth rail Bridge? What a great colour. Industrial Red Oxide. Craig & Rose (est 1829) lovingly gave their product for the first 100 years or so to the bridge. Today Craig and Rose are a very modern paint manufacturer - http://www.craigandrose.com/about_us.
In this pic, the finishing touches are applied to the area known as "Ferry Toll". What a busy little geograph showing varied transport modes in one. Trains, buses and automobiles. In the background, under the bridge, you might make out the breakers yard for seagoing vessels. Had I been here a second earlier and pointed due East then an orange liveried Easyjet 737 might have also crept into the frame. Ferry Toll Park and Ride: https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/831216 |
