Description
English: A text referring to Nail Çakırhan must refer to this, his bust. A man I would have liked, restoring old houses, that so often are down. Near the Archaeological Museum there is a large former Han, the Konakaltı Han. It is an 18th century construction that has been restored (that is: almost rebuilt) and now used as a cultural centre. Several notices explain how the restoration came about, and how earlier activities on the spot (a publishing house – maybe named Muftuler House - seems to have been in a building on the courtyard? A hotel?) are connected or have a history related to the spot. I could not understand it all.
