Description
English: Nera village is a remote village, a 5-hour uphill walk from Karnali river basin, Tumcha village of humla. This isolated village has well-preserved Nepali hilly traditional dresses, jewelries and customs in the way they lived their lives. During the wedding the neighbors and relatives gather, cook food together and sing the deuda songs whole night. In this photo, women have gathered to cook a sweet chapati called "chiula" a local dish on the occasion of a wedding in the grooms house. Women are wearing their best of clothes, colorful beads and large earings. This is a representative photo of the people of the mid hills of the whole Karnali region is the origin of Nepali Khas culture and tradition which is the root of Brahmin/ Chhetri sub culture and the language Nepali.
