SIGNED MUHAMMAD AMIN AL-HUSAYNI AL-TIRMIDHI, OTTOMAN TURKEY, DATED AH 1008/1599-1600 AD An early copy of this prayer book composed by Sultan Sulayman's Grand Mufti, Ottoman manuscript on paper, 39ff. plus 2 fly-leaves, each folio with 13ll. of elegant nasta'liq script, some words picked out in red, text within thick black-ruled gold frame, with marginal comments finely written in nasta'liq script and arranged in diagonal panels, with occasional finely illuminated cartouches in gold and polychrome, opening bifolio with fine illuminated headpiece and illuminated panels, with catchwords, colophon signed and dated, with two seal impressions dated AH 1011 and AH 1013, reverse of final folio with added notes, in floral lacquered binding and gold-speckled doublures Text panel 4.1/8 x 2.1/8in.
