Summary edit
DescriptionMull Hill Tower - geograph.org.uk - 1760132.jpg |
English: Mull Hill Tower. This is a prominent feature on the Mull of Logan. From a distance it looks like a tower, but is really just a single wall remaining from a larger building which was blown down in 1953. Its 2-dimensional nature becomes apparent when viewed by satellite http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=mull+hill+port+logan&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=12.948388,46.010742&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Mull+Hill,+Port+Logan,+Stranraer,+Wigtownshire+DG9+9NE,+United+Kingdom&ll=54.737032,-4.985808&spn=0.001542,0.005617&t=h&z=18 .
The structure is grade C listed, dating from the early 19th century - information from Historic Scotland http://hsewsf.sedsh.gov.uk/hslive/hsstart?P_HBNUM=13575 . Taken with zoom lens from Port Logan harbour. The tower is also visible here 758368 . |
