English: The work was inspired in Bourdelle by the peasants of Quercy who wore several skirts and petticoats superimposed. They had got into the habit of raising the top skirt and covering their heads with it to protect themselves.
Français : L'oeuvre a été inspiré à Bourdelle par les paysannes du Quercy qui portait plusieurs jupes et jupons superposés. Elles avaient pris l'habitude de relever la jupe du dessus et de s'en couvrir la tête pour se protéger.
Italiano: L'opera è stata ispirata a Bourdelle dai contadini di Quercy che indossavano diverse gonne e sottogonne sovrapposte. Avevano preso l'abitudine di alzare la gonna e coprirsi la testa per proteggersi.
