Summary edit

Description
English: Trolleybus built by Belgian FN and ACEC in 1954. Length 11.92m, width 2.50m, wheelbase 6,42 m. Weight 11920kg, 140 HP. 37 seated, standing 53.

This vehicle comes from a series of 30 vehicles (numbers 520 to 549) known as T54, this name deriving from having been constructed in 1954. At that time, the network of Liège trolleybuses was at its peak and its Maximum extension. His forfeiture was also very close. This series was the last trolleybus construction in series in Wallonia, and also represents a high point in this development - nearly all parts were developed particularly for trolleybus use. FN-Herstal and ACEC of Charleroi designed a powerful vehicle, thanks to its 140 HP engine and its automatic acceleration device.

TULE acquired these 30 trolleybuses to replace the electric trams on lines 10 (Saint-Lambert-Fléron) and 12 (Saint-Lambert-Loncin). The steep slopes that were recorded on these two courses were no problem for the powerful T54s. On Sundays, when services were reduced, they also served lines 25 (Cathedral - Ougrée), 37 (Cathedral - Oupeye) and 38 (Cathédrale - Cheratte). Meanwhile, the T54 trolleybuses ended their abbreviated career in 1971 under the control of STIAL and then STIL, when the Liège trolleybus network was dismantled. Photographed in Musée des transports en commun (Liège).
