English: Purified ceramic plate with "white on red" decoration from the grave goods of the Flabelli tomb in the Olivetello Necropolis, today preserved and exhibited in the Museo civico etrusco romano Prof. G. Bianchini di Trevignano Romano. On the plate we can see a so-called "heron" decoration referring to the figures of animals with sinuous bodies and elongated beaks arranged concentrically on the external surface of the plate. Furthermore, you can see the two holes that were used to hang the plate on the wall.
The tomb of the Flabelli, discovered between 1966 and 1968, is dated to the 7th century BC. |
