Description
Relief on the tombstone of P. Longidienus, a Shipwright who died in Ravenna. He is standing alongside a hull that to all outward appearences, is complete. Yet he holds in his hand a massive timber which he is carefully shaping in a graceful curve with the adze. Because he busy shaping a frame to insert in his completed shell of planks.
