Description

Tanque M-48. Es un modelo construido en Estados Unidos desde 1952. Llegó a España en 1965. El Ejército español operó 181 unidades. En 1966 la Infantería de Marina formó una compañía de carros con 17 M-48, que fueron modernizados a la versión M-48A3E diez años después. A partir de 1979 164 de los M-48 del Ejército fueron modernizados a la versión M-48A5E2. En 1993 tanto los M-48 del Ejército español como los de la Infantería de Marina fueron reemplazados por tanques M-60.

M-48 Tank. It is a model built in the U.S. since 1952. It arrived to Spain in 1965. The Spanish Army operated 181 units. In 1966 the Spanish Marine Corps formed an armored company with 17 M-48, which were upgraded to version M-48A3E ten years later. From 1979 164 of the Army's M-48 were modernized to M-48A5E2 version. In 1993 both the M-48 of the Spanish Army as the Spanish Marines were replaced by M-60 tanks.
