Français : Plaque en terre cuite moulée représentant un mušhuššu, animal hybride à tête de serpent à cornes, attribut du dieu Marduk de Babylone. Le mušhuššu est censé protéger les personnes et les maisons contre les forces malfaisantes. Provenance : Sud de l'Iraq. Période néo-babylonienne (v. 800-500 av. J.-C.). BM 134738.
English: Terracotta plaque (moulded) of mušhuššu, hybrid animal with a snake front body and horns, associated with Marduk, great god of Babylon. The mušhuššu is supposed to protect people and houses against evil. From Southern Iraq, Neo-Babylonian period (c. 800-500 BC).BM 134738.
