Summary
editDescriptionMutilated bowl barrow to the north of Hatchet Pond, New Forest - geograph.org.uk - 464629.jpg |
English: Mutilated bowl barrow to the north of Hatchet Pond, New Forest In the foreground is the bronze-age barrow mound, which only stands around half a metre high. The boundary of a post-medieval field cuts across the northern part of the barrow, with a ditch and bank which spoil the barrow mound. Gorse bushes grow on the heath around the mound, but not on the mound itself. One of the cottages on Furzey Lane is visible in the distance. |
