Description
English: APP-6A defined a standard octagon boundary within each boarder of map symbol. With a few defined exceptions, all symbols inside the boarder would also fit inside these octagons. APP-6C further divided the octagon template into three zones. The central zone is where the main role indicator is drawn or rendered. The top and bottom zones provide space for modifiers to be drawn or rendered. This octagon is not actually shown when map symbols are drawn or rendered.
